In the wake of the riots in Baltimore, the Orioles had to play against the Chicago White Sox in an empty stadium. The day-time game was closed off to the public because of safety concerns.
So, a certain player decided to poke fun at the fact that they had such a great win (8-2) in front of absolutely no one.
At the end of the game, catcher Caleb Joseph went out of his way to "sign an autograph" for a nonexistent sideline fan. After, he waved excitedly to say "thank you" to the adoring "crowd."
