Detroit fans did not welcome comedian Dave Chappelle with open arms last week.
Chappelle performed for two hours at the Fillmore Theater during his comeback tour, but it doesn’t sound like the comedic genius was very funny.
TMZ posted a video in which ticketholders heckle the comedian with rude comments and many profanities. Attendees took to social media to complain about the show’s quality, suggesting that they did not get their money's worth. A lot of people asked the Fillmore for a refund.
One unsatisfied fan wrote, "Horrible, don't go. Second show last night was ridiculous. Walked out. Did not get what I paid for... refunds please!"
Some people even claimed that Chappelle was drunk and had "slurred speech."
However, others didn’t seem to think he was half-bad and defended him. One person wrote, "Went to the second show last night. Dude did a spectacular job. He didn't do many jokes, but he freestyle it all night. Crowd interaction was great. Some wud yell something and he wud make it a joke. #funny..i understand some ppl were frustrated with the flow of show but all the stuff he was saying was funny. Ppl need to lighten up."
